A survey conducted by the University of Portsmouth's Research Group in Breast Health revealed that one in five women admitted to not exercise because of the size of their breasts.
Emma Burnett, chairman of the study, says, breasts are an important factor that determines the interest in women's sports. One in three women in the study did not meet the recommended minimum exercise time. Therefore, it is important for them to raise awareness about breast health to keep keep exercising.
Women with high levels of physical activity are very concerned about how they choose the right bra, including the size, compression or encapsulation capability, wide straps, and materials. Supposedly the factors that need to be understood by those who are lazy to exercise, by reason of the breast. In other words, they must be good at choosing a bra for comfort during exercise.
Selection of the right bra will also prevent them from embarrassment due to shocks in the breast. According to researchers, when using the right bra, then such shocks can be minimized.
Burnett and his team conducted a survey of 239 women in Portsmouth, Southampton, and areas around the UK related reasons they do not exercise. As many as 17 percent of women who followed the survey mention breast size is what prevents them to exercise.
Researchers hope that, with this study is the bra makers can provide convenience for women to be able to choose the right bra before buying. Researchers also face this study may increase awareness of women about their breast health.
Professor Joanna Scurr, head of the research group says about breast health, the selection of the wrong bra when doing strenuous physical activity such as running will have a negative impact on the body, including reduced breast position, and the tension in your back and neck.
